Locks down fibers & toughens your liner: Colloidal‑silica rigidizer penetrates ceramic fiber blanket to create a harder, more erosion‑resistant surface that helps keep fibers in place and provides a better base for refractory coatings.
Simple mix, easy apply: Dilute the 16oz concentrate 1:1 with water to make 32oz; spray or brush onto pre‑wetted insulation. The solution is tinted so you can see coverage; dry by air or low, repeated heat cycles per instructions.
Enough to cover 2x Mr Volcano Hero single burners or 1x Mr Volcano Hero 2 double burner forge.
Great prep for refractory coatings: Common practice is: Wool → Rigidizer → Thin refractory mortar (e.g., Satanite) → Optional IR topcoat. A rigidized surface helps subsequent coats bond and hold up under flame velocity.
